Jun. 22/15I've been laying pretty low through the spring getting things prepared for a new album. We will begin recording in July, more information to come. I am also excited to announce that I am teaming up with Logan McKillop this summer for a ten show tour from Northwestern Ontario to Saskatchewan. We are really looking forward to seeing you out there. More details can be found on the Facebook page linked to the image below!
It's Good to be Home
Dec. 10/14Thank you everyone who came out to the Park Theatre last week, I am so grateful for the amazing support I have been getting from this amazing city! On August 23/2012, I had a chorus melody in my head while driving past Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg…I recall the date because it is still in my voice memos on my phone. Over two years later that melody has evolved into "Taller Than The Trees". It has always amazed me when artists experience these creative moments, they can emerge at the strangest times. Voice memos are a blessing to musicians, great hooks/melodies/lyrics shall never fall through the cracks again.
And So Ends Another Chapter.
Nov. 18/14Back in September, I left Winnipeg for nearly three months on the road. As I recall, it was a warmer city, vibrant, with bursting colours of leaves as they displayed their ultimate beauty. On tour, I had the privilege of witnessing seasons shifting in every province from Ontario to British Columbia. My travels took me nearly 20,000km (on planes, trains, and automobiles) and over 40 shows in 5 provinces. I got to face off with Polar Bears in Churchill, MB. (from the safety of my van), fly by countless Coyotes scavenging the ditches of the prairies, and even had a rare sighting of a Snowy Owl watching over the rolling hills of southern Alberta. As scenic and enjoyable as my travels have been, the highlight is always you, the friends I have met along the way, those who come out to the shows, those who follow social media, and those who offer their support in any way shape or form. You are the reason I am able to make this career a reality. Thank you. I am thrilled to be back in the comfort of Winnipeg, even if it is in the midst of the tightening grip of winter. A steady diet of coffee and borscht are an integral part of a Winnipeg winter survival kit. Stay warm, see you soon December 2nd!
